Even though Starfield, Bethesda‘s gigantic space RPG, has received positive reviews, players are finding the game dull and uninteresting a few days after its major Early Access launch.
Starfield is the first unique work of intellectual property that Bethesda has generated in 25 years, and the business is placing a large wager on it. Furthermore, Starfield’s Early Access figures indicate that it is already a certified hit, if sales are any guide. Nevertheless, it appears that some Starfield fans who have played the Early Access version are finding the experience mediocre or even worse than that, despite reviews praising the game’s technological prowess and sheer scale.
Some Early Access players of the Premium and Constellation editions of Starfield shared their opinions on social media, and not all of them were positive. After hours of gaming, some have pointed out how monotonous the entire experience has been in the end.

In addition, a number of Reddit threads have been devoted to criticizing Starfield’s lackluster plot and grand scale. Although these fans believe that the game is a graphical marvel and provides a great deal of exploration flexibility, they find the game to be unsatisfactory overall.
Despite the rich vistas and literally thousands of worlds to explore, some Starfield Early Access users are complaining about the game’s empty sensation.A few players of Starfield brought attention to the NPCs’ monotony. For one thing, the stereotype of the “sassy boss” female staffer on a ship was just too much.

When it comes to NPCs, people generally agree that it feels cheesy and forced, as opposed to bringing real characters to what should be an exciting intergalactic adventure. Given that prior Bethesda franchises, such as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls games, had memorable NPCs and dialogue—even the random ones—this is a strange flaw.
A major topic of contention for some Starfield enthusiasts was NPC contact. There were comparisons made between Baldur’s Gate 3 and how it handled NPC interaction and dialogue. Is it, however, a reasonable analogy to draw?Furthermore, the criticism is accentuated when juxtaposed with the massive hit game Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios. Although the two RPGs appear to be very different from one another, they share several essential characteristics. Furthermore, Baldur’s Gate 3’s NPC interaction and speech is far more enjoyable and engrossing than that of the previous game.
Could this continuous comparison serve as support for the belief that Baldur’s Gate 3 established a new benchmark for AAA games? Without a doubt, Starfield has no justification in terms of funding or development time. In comparison to Baldur’s Gate 3, which took six years to complete, Starfield’s development started as early as 2015. The fact that Todd Howard, the executive producer and game director at Bethesda Game Studios, is marketing Starfield as “Skyrim in space” is further spreading the flames.
Based on the Early Access stats, Starfield is already a commercial success, despite the negative feedback from certain fans. How did you feel about Starfield? Do fans have a point when they say it’s boring? Is Starfield merely a bunch of beautiful images in space with no real substance? Post your ideas in the comments section below.
