As the seductive actress confirms she will be the voice of the warrior vampire Nitara in NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming Mortal Kombat 1, Megan Fox joins the MK universe.

The Outworld Vampire In the 2002 video game Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Nitara made her debut. Later on, she would make appearances as a playable character or a cameo in Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition, Mortal Kombat: Deception, Mortal Kombat: Unchained, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and Mortal Kombat 11. Mel Jarnson, an Australian-Thai actress, played Nitara in the 2021 live-action Mortal Kombat film as well.
Megan Fox’s casting as the seductive and deadly vampire Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1 was confirmed by Ed Boon himself. A brief trailer including an interview with the Hollywood actress and gameplay snippets of Nitara in action are included with the announcement.

She uses vicious flying and claw strikes in the gameplay. Interesting conversation exchanges occur with Ashrah and Kung Lao, the latter of whom seems to be referencing Megan Fox’s 2009 horror-comedy Jennifer’s Body in an Easter Egg-like manner.
For her role as MK1’s vampire goddess Nitara, Megan Fox appears to be channeling her demon-possessed high school hottie character from the movie Jennifer’s Body. 20th Century Fox is the image.After Nitara (together with Motaro and Reiko) appeared in leaked video, speculation regarding her reappearance in Mortal Kombat 1 began to circulate on social media. Ed Boon would subsequently validate the leak by talking about the characters in MK1.
Who would provide Nitara’s voice actress, though, was not disclosed at the time. Remarkably, Megan Fox’s introduction as Nitara coincides with the alleged online release of the entire MK1 lineup.
Megan Fox commented on her portrayal of Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1 as follows:
She comes from this weird realm. She is a type of vampire creature. She’s evil, but she’s also good. She’s trying to save her people.
I really like her. She’s a vampire. Which obviously [laughs] resonates for whatever reason. It’s cool to be in the game, you know? Because I’m not really just voicing it, it’ll be like she’s kind of me.
In addition to the Megan Fox interview, the Mortal Kombat 1 teaser featured Nitara’s gameplay and cutscenes. An intriguing conflict suggests that there will be competition with Ashrah.Fox went on to explain why she jumped at the chance to take the role:
I think it’s just an opportunity that anybody would want. Because we did all grow up playing the game, and it is one of the greatest video games of all time.
