Sony won’t have any PlayStation Plus-related announcements to share until closer to the end of the month, but it looks like we already know what one of the free games for July 2021 is going to be.
Earlier this week a ResetEra user by the name of deluxe made a bunch of (at the time) completely unverified claims about Asobo Studio’s A Plague Tale: Innocence. They wrote that a sequel, called A Plague Tale: Requiem would be announced during Microsoft’s E3 2021 showcase. They also claimed that a next-gen remaster of the original game was being released and that it will be included in July’s PlayStation Plus lineup exclusively for PlayStation 5 users.
The existence of this sequel shows that deluxe was absolutely on the money, and would naturally suggest what they also said in regards to the first Plague Tale coming to PlayStation Plus is very much reliable.
Still, do take this with a small pinch of salt, for now, Even if delxura’s information was accurate at the time of writing, which seems incredibly likely given the evidence, we’ve still got a few weeks before Sony is set to announce July’s PlayStation Plus games. There’s every chance the lineup could shift and change in that time.
Don’t forget that you have until the end of the month to get your hands on the free games for June, assuming you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, that is. PlayStation 4 owners can download Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown and Star Wars Squadrons, while PlayStation 5 users can also nab the intriguing spy-themed co-op experience Operation: Tango.
